Aung Zayar Lwin is the President of the Myanmar Digital Economy Association (MDEA), one of the leading voices of Myanmar's digital economy and fintech community. Under his leadership, MDEA - together with FinTech Alliance Myanmar - joins Finweek KL 2026 as a founding signatory of the EU-ASEAN fintech corridor, bringing Myanmar's fintech ecosystem into the regional dialogue on digital finance, investment and cross-border regulation.He brought 10+ years of experience in finance and technology from the United States and worked as a director of learning technology at Ashford University (currently the University of Arizona Global Campus) and Alliant International University, implementing Learning Management Systems (LMS).

He has been elected as a Joint Secretary General of UMFCCI in Dec 2022. In addition to serving as the UMFCCI representative in the Steering Committee of Trade and Investment Project for the National Export Strategy (NES), he has been involved in various UMFCCI committees since 2018. He is also the President of the Myanmar Digital Economy Association Inc (MDEA) since Dec 2022.

He is an Executive Committee member of the Myanmar Computer Federation (MCF), the Myanmar Information Security Association (MiSA), the Myanmar Computer Industry Association (MCIA), and the Yangon Region Young Entrepreneurs Association (YRYEA). He is a founding member of the American Chamber of Commerce Myanmar (AMCHAM Myanmar), serving as a co-chair of its CSR & Scholarship Committee. He served as a board member and treasurer for the International School Yangon from 2013 to 2015.

He holds an Alliant MBA with Information and Technology Management and Finance concentrations. He studied employee ownership management at the Rady School of Management, UC San Diego, and graduated from the EDUCAUSE Learning Technology Leadership program. He is married to Kalayar Pyi Wai Shan, managing director of PYI WAI SHAN Gems, and has two sons. He is passionate about digital technology, open source, learning, and investments.
