Prof Dr Aini Suzana Ariffin is the Chair of the UNESCO STEPAN (Science, Technology, Engineering and Innovation Policy) Network, spanning 21 Asia-Pacific countries. Based at Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), she leads the Working Group on AI Governance under Malaysia's National Blockchain and AI Roadmap (2021–2025). She is also a UNESCO AI Ethics Expert Without Borders and a Technical Committee Member for ISO/IEC AI standards. Her work uniquely bridges academic research, international policy frameworks, and national-level technology governance implementation.
